A member of STARS, Fred (Al) Waselewski, WA2VJL, has just been appointed by the ARRL West Gulf Director, John Robert Straton, N5AUS, as an official ARRL DXCC Card Checker. Al is the first ARRL Card Checker in the Rio Grande Valley.
Al has a long history of active DXing and is now authorized by the ARRL to check QSL cards for all contacts on 80-10 meters, VHF, and UHF for WAS and DXCC awards.
To get your QSL cards checked for ARRL Awards E-mail Al at wa2vjl@yahoo.com for instructions. You no longer have to ship your cards to ARRL Headquarters for confirmation of contacts.
