Youth Joins the Ranks of Local NCS Operators
Nathaniel Pemberton (KI5IZO) has recently joined the STARS NCS ranks. The 12-year-old youth now regularly runs the Wednesday-night session of the Valley Information Net at 7pm on 444.275 on the STARS Repeater System. The homeschooled young man has been under the mentorship of KI5IZR and KI5IZQ, his parents who are also NCS Operators for the daily net. You can read his Bio here.
“I’ve been looking forward to this for the last six months! I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve!,” says the young man.
Welcome, Nathaniel!

It’s so good to have youths getting their license and getting on the air!
proud of Nathan he does such a great job. keep up the good work!
I love it when he runs the show, my daughter hears him and said I want to do that too. now she is “kinda” studying to get her technician. She is not as as bright as this young kid.
Oh, that would be so exciting for her to get her ham license! Maybe we could get a “Youth Net” going! How old is your daughter?
a youth net?
Sure! Why not? OMISS has the “Old Men’s” net… I’ve heard YL nets… There’s nets for all sorts of topics and groups. 👍🏼😉
Somebody is doing an excellent work here, as an individual, team and family level. Congratulations, keep up the good work.
Thank you, Raul! We’ve been homeschooling for 20 years and really enjoy learning together! 😎
